John Zawiskie, adjunct professor of geology at Wayne State and staff geologist at Cranbrook Institute of Science, is featured in this column by Bill McGraw. Zawiskie, who received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in zoology and paleontology from WSU, had a key role in the recovery of mastodon fossils uncovered recently in Rochester Hills.
